I don't necessarily need "hours" per se. I'd be happy with miles traveled per year, or anything that basically gives a relatively specific idea of how much the plane is used.

Awesome suggestion, Ray, but the website did not have the answer.

Understand that the airplane itself is not called Airforce 1... Airforce 1 or USAF1 is the callsign for any airforce airplane that is carrying the President of the United States. Also, Airforce 2 is the designation for any airplane operated by the airforce that the Vice President is abord. Therefore, since the government keeps the president's travel under wraps, it would be impossible to get the exact number of hours for Air Force 1.

That information would be classified. Any aircraft the President flies in carries the number 1 on it. Like Air Force 1, there is a Army 1, Marine 1(commonly used at the White House when the President departs for Andrews AFB), Navy 1 and even Coast Guard 1(Commonly used during the tour after Hurricane Katrina hit)

Air Force 1 is designated as ANY USAF Aircraft that POTUS is on board. If you mean the two 747 designatied as VC-25, I would suggest you contact the Public Affairs Office at Andrews Airforce Base.

Brian, you're showing a lot of interest in Air Force 1. May I suggest you go to the White House web site for the information?

Interesting. I did a little research myself this evening and was unable to find usage numbers. Close as I got was it costs 180 million per year to operate. Since the events of 9/11 I'm not going to dig too deeply. You might want to consider that.
