Are you a convert? If so, why and from what did you convert? If not, are you a traditional Catholic?

If you're an ex-Catholic, why did you leave the Church?

I am a Catholic.

I was raised Catholic.

When I was old enough to decide for myself what to believe, I looked around and found that Catholicism answered all my questions.

With love in Christ.

I am a Roman Catholic from California, in USA. I say this because even being a traditional Catholic I probably am very different than Catholics from Europe, China, or anywhere on this planet.
I would never consider forcing people to be like me, or think like me, or worship like I do.
Most Catholics feel this way also, so each person has a faith that matches them.
(Oh, well that last statement is more a hope, actually - as I do not know every Catholic.)
Peace.

I am a Catholic. I was born Catholic. I believe in the traditions of the Catholic Church. I believe everything that the Catholic church teaches. I will never leave the Church. The Church is like our mother. She protects us. She brings us to heaven. She helps us go to God. She helps us find happiness.

Pastor Billy says: son I'm a cradle Catholic and I became an even better Catholic because of all the anti-Catholics and false things they and others say about Catholics, the Church and the doctrine of Catholicism.

"There are not 100 people who hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they think it to be"

Archbishop Fulton Sheen.

"Can I get an Amen"

the name Pastor Billyjoebob is a parody on poorly educated Protestant pastors who lead others in false witness against Catholicism.

addition: yummy what is your problem? Sometimes Protestants will not listen to anyone who has the answers for them, they perfer ignorant simple Catholics. I find alittle humor works in starting a meaningful dialogue and the Pastor Billy alias gets their attention, cuts throw all the pride and makes them laugh at themselves. It really is sad how silly Protestant missionaries go on with Catholics in whom they see a mission field. Times are a changing and I think in the next 50 years you're going to see ex-Catholics returning and many more Protestants converting because of people like me who are engaging in truthful dialogue cutting through all the tract crap, all the propaganda and all the caricatures of the Catholic Church non-catholics are taught and fall for.

In the last 50 years there as been created this new language created which I call Evangelese. yummy speaks it I know it and it goes without saying. yummy thinks the Catholic Church isn't a "bible believing" Church but of course it is simply because the Catholic Church is the first bible believing Church and whats more is the Christian bible is a Catholic book. Martin Luther knew this and even after separating the Church Luther admitted as such in his writing yummy you ever read any Luther?

It is an ultimate insult by some Protestants to claim they are bible believers and Catholics are not. It is also childish that they make such claims. What is really argued isn't bible usage or bible acceptance but a differing biblical interpretative tradition, of course Protestants don't admit this way.

Finally the Trinity doctrine is a Catholic one and therefore Mary is never given Godly worship. It is a fear gospel that teaches Catholics make Mary God and worship her as such. I wish these propagandists would grow a backbone and debate honestly and truthfully and only then will I begin to see Christ in them

yummy you've mentioned several topics like a game of hopscotch. I suggest we discuss each one separately elsewhere so we can concentrate on each one and I can dispell your misunderstandings and misrepresentations. You write in a matter-of-fact way which of course is not so matter of fact at all.

I was born and raised Catholic and went to Catholic school but I that religion soon after I started reading the bible and realized that many of their doctrines and teaching not only weren't in the bible but went directly against the bible like the Mary and saints worship, calling the priests father, praying in vein repetition, having to confess your sins to a priest and pay for them with penance, the doctrine of purgatory which nullifies what Jesus did on the cross, the wearing of medals and scapulas for divine protection, the infallibility of the pope ....... I'm getting tired of writing but there is much more. Just pray and the Lord will show you that He doesn't approve of that religion.

How can anyone belong to a religion that claims to be Christian that tortured and murdered Christians and bible translators?

I'm an ex-Catholic. I left the church because my mother converted to a different religion, and I had to follow.

Sometimes, I miss the Mass :(

I'm an ex-Catholic. Why ? Because I didn't believe what the church preaches. I never could understand how one person can be three different people. I believe in the natural, not in the supernatural. I believe in no superstitions.

Iam new to the Catholic Church. Iam in RCIA as we speak. I have never before followed a religion, been to different churches growing up, then took my own path, in December the Lord led me to the Catholic Church and I have never felt so at home as I do now. I love the Mass And I truly feel God's presence in the Catholic Church. I never felt His presence in any other church. God Bless
