My current girlfriend cheated on me, we were dating for 7 months when she did. She eventually told me and I forgave her because I'm a firm believer in 2nd chances and I know no one's perfect. Since she told me and I forgave her, we've been together for 8 more months totaling a year & 3 month relationship and we've better than ever and it's mostly her actions that make it better. Do you think it's possible she just made a stupid mistake and will learn from it? I honestly love her a lot and don't want to lose her but don't want to waste my time.

So you've forgiven but you haven't forgotten. That's the problem. No matter what - you will always have a little piece of your mind that will remember the little indiscretion.
Dude - if you are going to "forgive" her, you're going to have to let go and go on as if it never happened. That's the only way it will work. Right now ask yourself - "If my girl had never cheated on me before - would I be questioning her loyalty now?" If the answer is no - then keep going and don't look back. If the answer is yes, then you have been given reasons to not trust her other than her having cheated on you - and you should cut your losses.

I think you have to examine why it was, at the time, that she cheated on you? Were you not giving her enough intimacy? Was there a particular problem? Was she felling not sexy or desired enough? Or was she simply playing the field? Of course, none of these reasons is a justification for cheating, but it may show whether she will cheat again.
(Oh, and BTW, what's 'cheating'? Sex? A relationship? A friendship that went too far? Kissing? I mean, if you'd been dating for 7 mos and she kissed another guy, I'd say who cares! Sex is one step higher; actually forming a romantic relationship one step higher still (although that might be more justifiable, depending upon the circumstances and the time you'd been dating)

I used to believe in second chances, but I realized that there was a good reason for breaking up in the first place. If she did it once she can do it again. But if you really love her and trust her and don't wanna let go of her don't. Just think of it this way, everytime your with her are you gonna be thinking about it? Are you still upset about it? If both the answers are yes then you should probably move on without her.

Yes, it is true that she could possibly have just made a simple mistake. And as long as your relationship is pretty good, said mistake will make your relationship stronger. However, I would be careful when giving your trust to her again, just because she might be tempted again...

thats a tough question.
she may really love you, you never know but they do say once a cheater always a cheater but i wouldnt no. everytime after i am cheated on i just leave em on the curb then and there. i dont know. this isnt a question people on yahoo can answer. this is something you need to answer by yourself by really thinking about it.

It's possible for her to change. But you have to think about why you are still second guessing her. Really you should go to her and tell her how you are feeling. Tell her you trust her but you are still afraid of feeling like you did before. If she is trustworthy and loves you she'll do whatever she needs to fix things.
