Why do Muslims believe that kafr (non-muslims) should respect Islam?

The Quran has the ultimate disrespect for non-muslims:

Allah's curses is upon Christians and Jews:

Quran 9:30 "the Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. …they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the truth!"

Dont Be friends with Christians or Jews:

Quran 5:51 : “O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. and he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. verily allah guideth not a people unjust.”

Hate everyone who doesnt believe in Islam:

Quran 60:4 ““(allah says) there is for you an excellent example…(abraham’s example) “we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in allah””

Islam is a religion filled with hatred for non-muslims, yet Muslims demand respect...amazing.

And you think for one minute Christianity or Judaism isn't the exact same way? Every single religion believes that ONLY those who follow it are the right ones.........EVERY SINGLE ONE. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Personally, I gave up on all the crap and rigamarole that came along with religion, and just decided to treat people the way I want to be treated.......with respect. Know what? I get along with everyone, despite religion.

1 India china Indonesia Malaysia and all countries of south east Asia the pple of these countries went to Islam by studying Islam only

Okay, I'm not Muslim and I don't know much about the religion. Then again, I don't know much about any religion, including my own. But I do know that most religions holy books are quite disrespectful and intolerant of other religions, sometimes even calling for violence against them. This is where the problem with taking any bible too literally starts. Muslims who want non-Muslims to respect Islam really only want one thing as far as I can see: PEACE. No matter your religion, others deserve your respect. Lets rise above this "your bible says this about my religion so you can go to hell" game and just all tolerate each other, at the very least.

The best answer would best be known by his contemporaries and those that were around when Mohammad was alive. The illiterate Mohammad's ignorance of the scripture caused him to be mocked by those that did know the Bible, this made him made him angry. Rather than repent Mohammad gave himself a promotion to el supremo prophet. He then demanded everyone change to follow him and when they didn't he started a killing spree that continues today. It is pride and arrogance on Mohammad's part that created this death cult that holds 1/5th of the world's population in spiritual bondage.
Many of the early Christians also considered Mohammad to be demon possessed and the religion is considered by Judeo/Christian theology to be consistent with Satanic traits. Satan's greatest desire was to be worshiped as God and Mohammad's Allah fits the description. Worship and mockery are extremes of opinion and megalomaniacs hate or despise not being respected or mocked so they simply forbid it or demand respect. OR I'LL KILL YOU !

If you want to understand the Quran in its entirety then go learn Arabic..and when you understand it
then come talk about Islam.

The Quran in English is not the same as the Quran in Arabic.
It is the same in the sense nothing changed about ti
but the translations cannot always be accurate because Arabic is soooooo different then many languages.

Friends in Arabic has many different meaning
unlike friend in English.

The Qur'anic message with the People of the Book is a message of peace. Here is God's commands, which say what means:
*{Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of [your] religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly; surely Allah loves the doers of justice.}* (Al-Mumtahanah 60:8)

I don,t think the question is fair !! In Islam Christians and
Jews are different from -- kafr -- . I am not well qualified to answer this question , \ in fact , there is no questio , only unjust attack on islam \ , but to the best of my knowledge , it is a religion of love and sympathy .

You say "Kaafur" like its a derogetory term its not. We dont demand anything, where does it say anywhere that as a muslim "I demand" you respect me? No where. You are quoting verses refering to the time of the prophet when there where battles and people trying to kill muslims who had every right to defend themselves. Put things in context if you want to make a proper point. I dont go around saying to people "i demand you respect Islam". Just as i respect people of other faiths i dont think its too much to "ask" for respect in return but i definetly dont "demand" anything. I respect all people in my life whether they be christian, Jew, Hindu, Catholic, Mormon or Sikh why should that respect not be resipricated? If you hate muslims thats your own hang up. Dont put words into my mouth as a muslim saying "I demand" anything. I have no problem with other faiths regardless of what your opinion is, i am a muslim and i know what i feel and how i behave and it is certainly nothing like you are portraying.
