Moth Balls ! I've had to use them, myself, and they actually work. Just put some around where you notice the cats the most....and some other places... they dont like the smell, so it keeps them away. It also works for other animals too...ie: skunks..

If that dont work, try cyanne (spelling?) pepper. Sprinkle it around, and when they get it on their feet....... well, lets just say, it doesn't 'hurt' them, but when they lick their feet, it's hot...and they dont like it.

If you have a big problems with them you can get traps from the animal control
