You can conserve electricity by unplugging and turning off appliances and shutting off lights when they are unoccupied or when the room is not in use. You can also conserve fossil fuels by using public transportation, sharing rides, riding a bike to school or work, using a manual lawnmower instead of a motorized one, avoiding the use of chainsaws, and most importantly, using ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES, like windmills and solar, which are two relatively clean ways of getting energy, and which do just as good a job as fossil fuels.

Good question!

(the phrase "energy conserved" is an oxymoron. of self contradiction.)
Only living, moving animals expend or preserve energy. Power plants make certain volt and ampere out put constantly, increasing when winter cold and summer heat draws more power or when demand is there. They are amazing things to walk through and see up close. TV just can't get it right. Dangerous but important work.
Only way to conserve energy is to not use it. If you really feel that you're doing your part by conserving and it makes you feel good, then all is well. Can't wait to go to the incandescent light bulb museum after the Kalipornya Kooks ban them. ~Groannn~(why do we put up with these kooks?)

Let me see... turning off lights when not needed, buying smaller fuel-efficient cars, riding a bicycle instead of driving a car, turning down the thermostat in winter and turning it up in summer, the list goes on and on. Perhaps the best one is not living in a mansion that uses twelve times the energy as the average home, and then making a documentary called, "An Inconvenient Truth".
