I would imagine you'll need a police report stating the round came from the party before the owners/responsible party can be made to assume liability for the damage. Your insurance agent should be of some help here too. As far as your deductible goes, if your insurance is going to pay for the damage, I imagine it'll depend on your particular policy. It seems that something like this would be covered under the comprehensive portion of your policy, if you have that. Don't be afraid to contact your agent. Also, if you're able to prove who's responsible, you may have to take them to small claims court if they refuse to cover your loss. Just remember, any deductible you pay is also a part of their responsibility to you. Good Luck!

I would move if I was you. I live in the country where there is a lot of hunting. I never had a bullet hole in my truck. Yes you are stuck with the deductible.

I don't think you need to worry about fixing a bullet hole in your car and who's responsible, etc.
You should be more worried about what kind of neighborhood you live in, where a bullet hole ends up in your car. Maybe you should move. That bullet could have ended up somewhere worst...like a person.

Unless you can identify the shooter, there is no way to go after anyone. You have to pay a deductible under your comprehensive because that's what coverage you chose when you got your policy. It applies regardless of fault.
