When she argues and says things back or when she totally avoids contact and ignores phone calls or texts and acts distant? I am mad at this man (if you want to know why, look at my previous question) and would love to continue seeing him, but I want him to know that I am not playing around.

It's all bad. The entire style of argument from a woman (irrational and illogical) is quite distressing to our well-ordered view of reality.
You don't need to play games like that, all you need to do is clearly and calmy explain the situation. That doesn't mean you need to tell him how your day was or what your friend said about your other friend's shoes. Just the facts ma'am

Silent treatment isn't a punishment. First of all, quit playing games, it could bite you in the butt. Be honest and upfront, men tend to not respond to these little games too well.
