I would suggest that you contact your local volunteer center. They specialize in connecting you with meaningful volunteer opportunities with local community non-profit organizations. I lead various teen projects through my local volunteer center.

Here are some links to find your local volunteer center:

Volunteer centers connect you with one-time, short-term, or long-term volunteer opportunities. They can find things that match your interests as well. I've worked alongside volunteers as young as 5 years old, so age makes no difference. You can always find a way to make a difference in your community.

Good luck!

I know a lot of people your age enjoy volunteering at animal shelters, so that is what I suggest. It is not as depressing and it won't make you feel "weird' like volunteering at a nursing home tends to make a lot of young people feel.

You might consider; Religious organizations, hospitals, old age/retirement homes. Also consider park districts if you are civic minded they occasionally have special projects.

Who would you like to help? It's important that you do what makes you feel like you're making a difference. If you don't feel like you're making a difference then just find something/someone else to help.
