I just bought a house built in 1981. I want to add my own special touch but before I can start I have to remove so much wallpaper!!
Wondering if anybody has any good remedies that really get this stuff off EASY!!!

there isnt much about what your going to do that is exactly 'easy'...

rent a portable residential grade steamer, get a friend or two to motivate you and get ya started, get a few little scraper knifes , 2 inch...1 inch...and a 5 or 6 inch, some drop cloths, buckets, sponges, and something stable to stand on , and ...figger out how the rhythm works with the steamer, and your scrapers...

the rest is just monotonous. ... ..not easy...monotonous.

Wagner has a wallpaper steamer. It has a "pad" attached at the end of the hose that you hold against the wall and the steam takes the wallpaper off. There is also wallpaper remover, but the steamer is a lot quicker.

A simple mixture of water and vinegar in an old Windex bottle works well. You just spray it on the wall and let it sit for a little bit and then take like a paint scraper and start scraping the wallpaper off. I'm not to sure what the ratio of vinegar to water is tho sorry.

Yeah- Go to wal-mart, buy the cheapest gallon of fabric softener you can find. Pick up a wallpaper tool at Sherwin Williams ( it pokes little holes in the wallpaper) spray the fabric softener on the wall- let it soak in and scrape it off with a 3 or 4 inch putty knife.

With allot of wallpaper I agree with buying a steamer and they are around $45. this way you can take it off at your leisure. If you plan on painting after please make sure you get all the paste residue off your walls for a good paint job. good luck and take your time. Also seeing it's fairly new paper it should come off pretty easy for you if it was preped correctly.
