Depends on cyst e.g sebaceous cyst is hard first than by natural process it becomes soft.
Bartholin's Cyst of vagina can soft first than hardens up.
Kidneys cyst are hard.
Breast cyst can be soft than hard.
So you see it depends much depends on site and tissue involved also cause of lesion.
Cyst of brain can contain fluid, also Hydatid cyst of liver contains fluid!

Cyste can b hard.Or,kinda softish.It's a lump.Ussually very painful.&,their size may gomup or down.*
