I was born w/no knowledge of God and no one told me about Him until I was old enough to make my own decision - it took me many years, I searched. I did the new age thing, went to a psychic, talked w/mormons, jw's, went to catholic church for awhile, then I heard this Pastor named Greg Laurie. He told the story of Jesus Christ, how God sent Him to die for my sins (and yours) and that He wanted a relationship with me. It all made so much sense, something (God) was tugging at my heart so right then and there I made a decision to follow Jesus and that was 16 yrs. ago. I think everyone has a God shaped hole to fill - not everyone will fill it properly. Hey - Bless you for asking! :)

In Romans 1:19-20 says we would be without excuse. So I would say everyone has an abstract idea of God by looking at the things that are made in this world around us.

Reasonably will come the time when you will ask that question:

Why am I here? And you would like to find the answer.

Romans 2:14-15 For whenever people of the nations that do not have law do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. 15 They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them and, between their own thoughts, they are being accused or even excused.

Every one is given a measure of faith at conception. That is in us from birth. There is always some sort of idea that there is a God. Even athiests have that belief.

Of course not. Granted, older civilizations lived in a society where they did not understand occurences like thunder, earthquakes, etc.. and for this they created the idea of "god."
Today we know what causes these things so, without being introduced to the idea of God, I would not come up with one on my own.

No you would not. Look at China and Russia. Their kids are mostly atheist with no proclivities toward religion except for a few groups on the fringe.

People have always found way of making gods to explain that which they cannot. Greeks, China, India, etc.
