try finding the option in the root menu. It will say something like" always go to start when play is selected" or some such. De-select that option. The DVD will now start from the last stop point or nearest scene
Oh and DVD's don't rewind. Videos do that. DVD's simply go to the beginning.

It may be the types of film. If the plot is too complicated and your PC does not have sufficient memory, then it will rewind because it can't remember what happened on the next day when you want to carry on watching. Bit like reading a complicated book and needing to keep re-reading pieces that are hard to understand or where you've missed the plot.

Rewind? DVDs dont rewind, in a way they play like an old vinyl disc, but with a laser, and a remote control :D

If you watch them on your computer, Nero ShowTime is good, it asks you if it should resume play from when it was last stopped....
On a normal DVD Player.... make sure you don't eject the film, and very important, do not power off your player...
Good luck!
