I am on a diet (gotta fit into my wedding dress beautifly) and so far I have lost 5 lbs in 'almost' a month (I now weigh 150 now and I am 5foot 3in). I really dont know what I am doing, I am just doing it. I stopped drinking soda...the hard part (I was a soda-o-holic!) and stopped eating out and after reading the nutrician facts...I am glad I did! I also have been trying to eat as much chicken and salads as possible and just checking calories.

-anywho-

I got this diet diary and I am now monotoring what I am eating and my diet diary asks me how many calories, carbs gm, protein gm, fiber gm, fat gm and the ONLY THING I have been looking at is calories! Whats is most important when reading lables? and I just found out that If I have less than 1000 calories a day, my body is in starvation mode...I'm pretty sure thats the case for me. Never been on a diet before and I have no Idea what I am doing..I am just doing it. I know I need to stay under 1500 but no less than 1000. HELP!

the calories and the saturated fat are the important ones, if in doubt try a diet like weight watchers, its like teaching yourself how to eat sensibly and with enough calories. fill up on fruit and veg, and cut down on portions, you should be fine. dont forget the exercise!

You're doing so well! A healthy diet: loads of fruit and vegetables, is the answer. Maybe you could try going vegetarian, it's the best there is - for you, the animals and the environment, and generally lower in calories. That is if you eat sensibly, of course, but animal products do add a lot of animal fats to your diet. Have a look at this: http://www.vnv.org.au/10ReasonsVeggo.htm#2%20Elixir%20of%20Youth

Also, try adding exercise. The New York City Ballet workout is one of the best workouts I've ever done, and it will also improve your posture and add grace to your movements, which will make you a beautiful bride! If you're wearing a sleeveless dress you will have beautifully toned arms to show off. I couldn't believe how my metabolism got faster once I started doing it. There are two, but I personally prefer the first one. You can get it here:

Hope you have a wonderful day!

5 lbs in a month is not bad for someone that doesn't know what they are doing. if you want to keep track of all the things in you diary then you would have to read labels of the things you eat. It is true that if you don't eat enough that your metabolism slows to conserve fat. Fruits, veggies, lean protein ,tofu (if you like it) plenty of water, and high fiber foods, and excercise are key. Mkae little goals for yourself and don't stress! Congrats on your nuptials.

I went vegetarian, started walking about a mile daily, lost 40 pounds in about four months.
