It means that this existential idea of 'truth' is complicated and subjective. If it weren't, we would have nothing to debate about, nothing to figure out, nothing to write about.

Truth is a word that is "relative" that is to say depending on who is saying it, it reflects the point of view of the person. History for instance is always favorable to the country of the person who writes it. Simple, well, nothing is really simple but math. In every truth, in every story there are complications and circumstances which make it unique to the story itself. No two events are ever the same. Tedious, well that is to say boring. A story is always better if the story teller weaves in their versions of events and if they are colorful all the better for the reader. Modern literature would be impossible without the bias and the weaving of fancy of our modern day times, just as they were in ancient times. Therefore take every story with a "grain of salt" and read the "truth" in between the lines because we make things interesting in order to hold the interest of the listener or reader.

Think of it this way: do you ever tell the full truth when telling a story? And if you did, wouldn't it be complicated to tell ever single detail? You'd have to go on several different tangents to tell your audience the complete truth. This is true as well in literature. There are only so many pages an author can fill, and if more than necessary, the audience gets bored. The author also has some creative license to embellish his story, as most people do in real life to make a point.

wow...really hard, but in some sort of way, I think it means that In the present life, it will be hard to actually find the truth, since, it's not easy to find it from many people and stuff. In literature (to be exact, modern) there is very few reality, this literature is not completely real and may not show reality itself....that's what I think that may mean.

the truth isn't ever easy. but if things weren't complicated, our lives would be boring! and if the truth was easy, we'd have nothing to read about either, as literature always contains a problem with complications.

Truth is relative to the teller, there are three versions to every story: His side, her side, and what actually happened.
