Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas (natural muscle relaxers) daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Yeh, sorry to hear that. My mum has thoughs.. What she does to get rid of them and get to sleep is take some vitiams to prevent and stop the cause of migraines. It's called apple vinager. I think it tastes gross.. But some people like it. That gets rid of those meanie migraines. And to get to sleep my mum rubs the back of her neck. It's the part between her neck and her head with that dent between the two. She rubs that for about 4 min and that makes her relax and sleep. Hope that helps :)

My Dr. sent me to a Nerologist I believe the specialist was and the Dr. their put me on a Migraine prevention medication called Topamax. And i've tried all the migraine medication's and nothing worked. But this migraine prevention medication was the best thing to help deal with migraines and help get me back to normal living. Talk to your Dr. about getting you on a Migraine Prevention Medication. There are other types besides Topamax. That is just the one that i'm on.

I feel for you. I've suffered migraines for about 30 years. Some times sleeping longer needed gives me a headache too. Maybe take a Tylenol or Advil at bed time. Not only helps prevent pain but relaxes you too.

a few alternative suggestions to help with this
Migraine cure
Taking 1 tablespoon of raw (organic) apple cider vinegar with a glass of water every morning will keep migraines away. You can even add a tablespoon of honey to make it go down easier.
vaporized vinegar can also help relieve headaches. in a vaporizer or small pan put 2 tbsps vinegar and 2 cups distilled water. bring to boiled. when vapor begins to rise turn heat off, put a towel over your head and lean carefully over the steam, taking 5 deep breathes . this is also a great way to steam clean your pores..
Migraine relief using Niacin
Niacin has proved helpful in relieving migraine pain. Valuable sources of this vitamin are yeast, whole wheat, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, nuts, sunflower seeds, liver, and fish. Vitamin I complex tablets containing 100 mg of niacin can be taken for the same purpose.

I've had them for way over 30 years, so I know where you are coming from.
The only thing that has helped me has been the combined efforts of a chiropractor and massage therapist. Haven't had an attack in several months.
You might consider the above options or even an acupuncturist. I've heard they can help as well.
Just remember, that what works for one person won't necessarily work for another.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Changes in sleep pattern -- too much or too little -- can trigger migraines. To prevent migraines from occurring due to sleep pattern changes, make sure you rise and sleep at the same time each day, even on the weekends. I have migraines too and had to train myself to do that as they were getting triggered by oversleep.
