i know it is a prayer because my fiance told me. he is from bombay originally and obviously indian. i asked what it meant because i chatted with his mom for the first time last night and she said it to me at the end of the chat. just want to know what she meant by saying it. is it a compliment/good thing??

It means: May Sai Bless us all.

This Sai is a spiritual guru by the name of Shirdi Sai Baba, who is very reverenced amongst many people from many religions, including muslims, Hindus, Christians, etc. Although the name Sai Baba is a title applied to many spiritual gurus, which maight mean Holy Father.
