Apartments in china are just like they are in big cities in the US. Most people in China don't live in apartments. They live in shacks on the countryside. They will be smaller than here, usually though, just because Americans tend to have bigger apartments and houses than in other places in the world.

I have a 3 bedroom apartment i SIchuan Province. Her he apartments are considered homes as there is very little single dwelling structures. 2 Bedrooms are.are of amples size (bigger thanI expected) the living room and dining area is also large. The bathroom is ok but there is no tub just a shower. Most showers are not in a stall type setting. You simply allow the water to run freely on the ceramic floor into a drain in the floor.Do make sure there is a Western type toilet. The Kitchen is smaller. You can expect the apartement to be in a multifloor building with no elevator. There are many places with elevators in the bigger cities . This Apartement is very comfortable.

my wife and i own a home in wisconsin and an apartment in guangzhou, china. they are both the same square footage. living room,, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and 3 bedrooms. the only differerence i see is that chinese seem to have taller ceilings and no garage. most chinese in the cities live in buildings maybe 20 or 30 stories with 8 or 9 apartments on each floor. they own the apartments but we still call them an apartment, but it is their home. most chinese don't have cars because they are too expensive and the roads are too crowded, but to make up for that they have an extensive bus system, usually about twenty five cents will get you anywhere you want to go. and a subway system. and taxis are very cheap and abundant.

well, in terms of apartments, there are one or two bedrooms, a kitchen, a toilet, and a sitting room. They are similar all over the world. However, houses in my country probably are different from the US.

In southern China, the monthly apartment rent is around 800 cy (100 USD) for a 1-BR Apt, and 1500 (200 USD) for a 2-BR Apt.

In those days people were very satisfied as long as they had a place to live and had no special demands for kitchens and toilets. Small and irregularly shaped homes were easily sold.

However it is different now. Housing space of a so-called “ economical” type has been enlarged to a flat boasting three bedrooms and two living rooms with a kitchen of 4-5sqm and one or two toilets of larger space, more comfortable and convenient for living.

studio type is 1bed, bathroom shower w/no bathtub, small kitchen and small living room,
standard type is 2/3 room with a some of them have a 2bathroom, mid kitchen, vary of living room space+balcony.
higher type is 3/5 or even more room when you willing to pay more you've got deluxe with extra view.
