Well, a capacitor won't help in a situation such as this. Because of the current draw you will need at least two 250 amp alternators. You will also need to do the "Big 3" - that is replace the the three main power cables to and from the alternator/battery and the ground strap.

7 amps? jesus. Is that 6400 watts RMS? you will NEED a better alternator than stock, quite possibly a second or even third battery (Optima Yellow tops are highly recommended), run at LEAST two 0 gauge wires from the batteries to the amps (each 0 gauge will handle up to around 3400w RMS, depending on quality)
At that power, a cap is a good idea, I generally recommend against capacitors but this is a special case.
Try going for a 7 farad cap, or run several that add up to 7 farads.
Play safe though, improperly handled capacitors can kill you, and improperly installed capacitors can cause some major damage. I'm not saying wear gloves and a bomb suit, just make sure you know what you're doing.
Sparky seems to be the only person on this site who's professionally installed audio systems and actually knows what he's talking about, if something I say goes against what he says, follow his instructions. I'm self-taught, I know what I know out of experience and miscellaneous forums.

Yes you should also install an extra battery and alternator so you don't burn yours out. As a general rule use 1 farad per 1000 watts.

Have you ever heard of BATCAPs, they are ten times better than capacitors and a lot more reasonable. You are also going to need 1/0 awg wire and make sure you upgrade your battery if you have'nt already. Bat Cap also makes really nice aftermarked batteries.
