I think that if anyone is seriously going to challenge a Christian belief, they better have their research done. Galileo and Darwin knew this. James Cameron jumped too quickly.

"I mean, do think that it will have a big affect on Christian faith?" - if this is the reason why you think it is a bogus set up, then you have issues...
Did you bother to watch the program yourself, or are you basing your assuumptions on what youve HEARD others says, without actually examining the thing for yourself? Be honest with YOURSELF on this one...
I will tell you that I am a skeptic and an Atheist. I watched the program myself. There were many flaws in the way the evidence was presented. However, I also felt that the evidence was compelling enough to warrant a deeper inspection, and I surely hope that scientists will continue to test this hypothesis. I certainly wasnt CONVINCED by the program or the evidence - but I was compelled.
Not believing it or not being willing to examine the evidence with a critical eye solely because it might break some person's fragile faith really is a cop out, and an insult to intelligence and logic.

Its rather debatable. From what I comprehend, they stumbled on a tomb with the names, Jesus, Mary, and Judah son of Jesus in it. ok i stumbled on some extra information on it. it style of feels there are some experts and cons: professional: The names interior the tomb have been Joseph, Mary, Jesus son of Joseph, and Jonah son of Jesus. Cons: those have been very easy names on the time. professional: Its a six hundred-a million danger that those easy names might take place to look interior an analogous tomb, because of fact an analogous kin. Cons: it somewhat is assumed uncertain Jesus's kin ought to handle to pay for a tomb

i dont think it will affect christian faith. if it were found to be true then it should only serve to cement the fact that jesus was real and now we have tangible proof. if its proved false then billy graham wont loose his fan base.
i think its compelling and should be seriously looked in to by archeologists, anthropologists, theologians and historical scholars. i think people will run with the idea because the faithful need no evidence to believe.
i find it interesting that it took something like 27 years for this to be brought to the mass public's attention. are they trying to introduce a massive religious finding slowly because its the truth and could change how humanity views its religion and faith? or are they just now presenting these finding for sensationalism and it was dismissed by the scholastic community as not possible many years ago?
i know that i am not qualified to say for sure...
but it made damn good t.v.!!

I think that it is an OK case and it is possible. They left a lot undone. If you were to get the bones, extract DNA and map the whole family relationship in the tomb, it would change the whole argument.
If it all matches the way they claim it should, it becomes a statistical slam dunk. If it doesn't, it becomes a funny coincidence. I am personally skeptical that it would match.

Come on...if they are going to question the Christian faith they better have their facts straight? Are you serious?
The Christian faith can, at most times, not have their own facts straight. Whether it will have a big impact or not is up to the Christian in question. If they think it's a non-issue then, to them, it's a non-issue. It wouldn't matter if facts were laid on the table, they still wouldn't doubt what they believe.
We all know how biased the Discovery Channel is to providing accurate assessments of historical events. /sarcasmoff Come on guys seriously. Enjoy the fact that people are actually paying attention to you and analyzing you and not just blowing you off like they usually do.
Instead of bashing folks and spreading hate, why not take this opportunity to try and PROVE it wrong rather then toss around insults?

How do you interpret Hunon as Jesus? This is the name on the tomb. It never stopped the maker of the movie though. To call this a documentary is so ignorant. The actual name on the tomb never even slowed the film maker down and one day he will answer for his greed...

If the discovery of dinosaurs doesn't bother your faith why would this. I mean, they are just proof that the bible is incorrect. If the bible is wrong, which parts do we know are right. We dont, so the book should not be beleived. But a little proof has never stopped a christian. They have faith and a fairy tale. Dont let a little thing like logic get in the way. You go christians. haha.

It's an interesting find that clearly needs more investigation. But I doubt it will have any affect on the Christian faith. Christians simply dismiss anything that challenges their beliefs. This will be no different, even if proved conclusively.

I believe that the tomb may be real, but it was not Jesus Christ's tomb. He is risen. And no this will not affect my faith. Its only a ploy of the evil one's to get us to question and leave our beliefs.
