Ecclesiastes 9:11-12......I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.  For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly.

You were in the wrong place at the wrong time mate

Hello I am a christian and I can tell you that God is right where he always is. I can tell you that he is close if you sincerely call out to him. It sounds like you are in a mess right now, but don`t get mad at God he`s the answer not the problem. God is a God of Justice, if you were one of his children he would move on your behalf. But if you do not even believe he exist I`d say that certainly cuts down your chances of receiving any favors. Anyway I hope things get better, think about what i said. I will pray for justice to be done in your situtation. God bless

Dude, God has nothing to do with the fact that people are misguided and/or evil and bad things happen to EVERYBODY. Good, bad, or somewhere in between.

Believing in God or not has nothing to do with the fact that bad things happen, sometimes by mistakes, sometimes on purpose. If you saw all the steps leading to this conclusion, you'd see that God had nothing to do with it.

And unfortunately, I don't think God will get you out of this situation either. Everyone has free will, and that includes the free will to frame you.

Be smart about this. Investigate as much as you can, and push for officials to investigate thoroughly. You're innocent until PROVEN guilty! Remind them that you have the right to a fair trial--this is no Salem Witch Trial, and you shouldn't be convicted based on a little flimsy evidence. If they can't prove you did this beyond a reasonable doubt, they'll just have to turn you loose.

And don't think of God as some separate entity. God is your inner strength, your will to fight and stand up for yourself. God is inside you. God is the spark that keeps you going in the face of injustice.

So don't look out there somewhere for God. Call it "conscience," "goodness," "love." God is a lot closer than you think!

Good luck, puddin'! Don't get discouraged!

And take notes on all this in case you DO get thrown out...maybe there's a book deal somewhere! Look on the bright side.

It is should be evident with all of the answers you have gotten that God's hand is on your life. He is surrounding you with his goodness by about 25 Christians who have encouraged you and pointed you to him...and if you call on him (don't look for lightening bolts) but just pray by faith from your heart...(Ask him to come in and help you)..Then you give him access to your life. He will go to work on this situation on your behalf whether you have been his child 10 seconds or 10 years...And I disagree with some parts of answers..It might just turn out like you expect..but you won't know until you jump in the water...And at this point, what have you got to loose?..God bless
Edit: I am not judging you in anyway. I was in a similar position, not the exact same but in trouble regardless, 15 yrs ago and turned to God. Have never regretted it.

Joseph was framed for rape and thrown in jail. I am sure he asked the same question at the time.

We now see there was a plan.
In Jail he was put in charge and learned how to manage meager supplies that later turned out to be invaluable as he ran the Egyptian empire through 7 years of terrible drought.
He also saved his entire family from starvation by allowing them to eat from the stores that he managed. The same brothers who sold him into slavery and got him to Egypt in the first place.

2 options here:
#1 It is a random act by evolved beings with no souls.

#2 There is a plan for your life that you do not understand and seems unjust, but it will all work for your good.

My son was framed for the same thing several years ago.

Where was God?

Right where He has always been.

Where was God when my mother had to go into a nursing home because she had Alzhiemer's?

Right where He has always been.

What makes you think that it's God's job to make things go the way we want them to go? What if, by making God make everything the way we want them to be we robbed God of His glory in that situation? Would it be worth it? What is more important, your "rights" or God's glory?

I would never have chosen for my son to be framed, or my mother to get Alzhiemer's, or for her to go into a nursing home to die there seven years later, or for my youngest daughter to have autism, either for that matter! But there it is! Stuff happens to people, good and bad; sinner and saint.

Why should the saints of old have been marytered? There were more maryters in the 20th century than in all the previous centuries COMBINED. God is still on his throne.

Ecclesiastes 3:16-17
16 Furthermore, I have seen under the sun that in the place of justice there is wickedness and in the place of righteousness there is wickedness.
17 I said to myself, "God will judge both the righteous man and the wicked man," for a time for every matter and for every deed is there.

Ecclesiastes 7:15
I have seen everything during my lifetime of futility; there is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness and there is a wicked man who prolongs his life in his wickedness.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.
14 For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.

Hi Jack. I'm sorry to read about your dilemma. I really hope it works out for the best. According to the Bible writer James at James 4:8, if you draw close to God, He will draw close to you. For someone like you, being an atheist who doesn't believe that God exists, how can God allow Himself be found by someone who doesn't want to believe that He exists and has no faith? Yet, God is not unloving for him to ignore your cry for help. Have faith that He exists and sincerely ask Him to help you endure the situation. Pour out your thoughts and your heart to Him and He himself will hear you. For Jehovah is the Hearer of Prayer to those sincerely asking for help and Isaiah 41:10 gives us these encouraging words from God: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness.”

God is always there when you call on Him. You do have to open your heart and let Him in. YOu say you're an atheist. God wants you to come to Him and ask. He WILL answer. Maybe not in the way you'd like Him to but nevertheless. And when you do He will help you through whatever it is you need help with. Wisdom, truth and patience for one.

It is like this Jack. You need Him everyday on earth and through your eternal experience. You see, evil still appears to Christians too here on earth, but we know what the scoop is and where to go for help during rough times and peaceful times. It may be time to realize that for some people, atheism is not the answer to these present times and what we are subjected to.
