how does a cannon work - any type
i need to do some background information on a lab we are doing and need to search the internet for information so that I can write 2 paragraphs of information on it

Cannons are projectile weapons that fire a shell by directing the expanding gases from an explosion in one direction. The expanding gases are trapped behind the projectile, which is forced forward. There is a really nice simple diagram on the link below.
