Do you mean "snorting"? Call your vet ASAP. They will tell you what to do better than a bunch of strangers can. Good luck and I hope it's nothing.

Being a lab, if he's acting like he has something stuck in his throat, he probably ate something and DOES have something stuck. Have you tried reaching into his mouth and feeling around?
Watch him and if it continues, take him to a vet.

Its called an inverted sneeze, it could last a couple second to a few minutes, I had a totall panic attack, when my dog did it, and the vet said thats what it is, and its nothing to be worried about.

our two pekes do this becuase of there smooshed faces and out puge "stress breathes" when he is nervous or upset, and then our lab has a week esophagus and he coughs if he gets worked up. so it really depends on your dog, i would love on him while h e is doin it and get to a vet very quickly if it doesn stop soon

block his nostrils gently and try to get him to breath with his mouth... it is like reverse hiccups,,, happens occasionally with my golden
