Ok so Saturday I get a sore throat at night, that night I get a 102.5 fever (never went past that) and a stuffy/runny nose with a horrible sore throat and a headache. And lots of pain in the chest (like when I cough, congestion) my sister had the same thing a week ago, she seems fine now but she has some cough left. My mom told me that a doctor is not needed right now and shes avoiding it because we don't have health insurance. The doctor said wait 5-6 days and if it doesnt get better come there. So I've been having fevers and stuff since saturday, today The highest it got was 100.1 but I've been feeling drained and I dont like doing anything, its like I dont want to continue, do you guys think this will heal in time? I've been taking just regualr nyquil and dayquil and I'd rather avoid the $100+ charge for the doc if its unecessary.

You're doctor wants to see you in 6-7 days because at that point, if symptoms persist, he/she can be sure you have a bacterial infection, as opposed to a simple, self-resolving viral infection. If you are still sick on the 6th or 7th day of your illness, go back to the doctor. Bacterial infections do not clear up on their own, will get worse, and can even be life-threatening.

What you haven't told us may be more important than what you have, but there's nothing in your post to make your illness sound any more compliccated than a viral respiratory infection. I personally wouldn't have even wasted the bucks on the Nyquil/Dayquil. If you get short of breath or have chest pain, you may have to see the doctor, but what you've said sounds like you're half-way through a minor but miserable illness.

Most common infections will run their course in 7 to10days.The fact that your sister has recovered already, should make you feel confident that you will recover shortly.Wait 7 to 10 days,if you are not almost or completely better by then see a doctor. Its most likely a common viral infection. Keep hydrated.Drink plenty of water.
