I have a princess of wales parrot and a budgie but I can't take care of them any more. Only feed them and cover up the cage at night. Where can I sell my pets? Also want to make sure that I'm selling my parrots to a better place. (I'd rather avoid selling them on the internet cause if I sold it to some dude in Texas or a place far away, that's not gonna work for the birdies cause they go crazy on car rides) Does $180 for a parrot and a free budgie sound like a good price? Can't go any lower than $180. So where can I sell the little guys?

BIG emphasis on not selling over the internet. I never trust the internet when it comes to purchasing or selling.

I would have to agree... You should ask for more like $200-300 for the parrot and about $25 for your Budgie. CraigsList is a great place to go to sell pets, especially since you can specify that it's local pick-up only. I don't recommend E-Bay... For so many reasons I'm not even going to list off. Bird Shows are usually a bad idea... They're just a breeding ground for disease and you'd be amazed how many sick birds are at bird shows. You could also post in your local newspaper, lots of people check there for pets, especially if they're not interested in waiting. That's one of the first places I look when I want a kitten or puppy and I'm always seeing ads for birds when I do this. Another thing is contacting your ASPCA, they won't give you any money for relocating your pets but they will give your animals a really good home; they're very selective about who they adopt out to. Good luck and I'm sorry you can't keep your birds any more!

I would check with a local bird veterinarian and let them know that you have 2 birds up for sale........... they can probalby put a flyer in their office. You don't want someone who has no clue about how to care for your bird being the next owner. Where do you live? If you are in California, I will take them. DO NOT put them free........... you can probably get $200 for the Princess of Wales, and I'd say $10 for the parakeet. People who take FREE animals are not always set up to care for them, it's like an impulse buy.

A parrot normally cost around 500.00, so 180.00 is cheap. Why not try http://craigslist.org
to sell your birds. You should ask for something for the budgie, just so that you know that they will take care of it.

Well dont listen to them about the craigslist. All those idiots over there want to do is flag your ad down all day so you never sell anything. I use http://livedeal.com and sell more pets on that website then anywhere else. And its Free and you can also sell on http://hoobly.com without anyone being able to flag your post.
