yesterday my hairdresser said it has got much worse and I really need to protect it.
Can anyone recommend a good protector, like a spray to use before or something, that isnt too expensive?
Thanks

I know I could stop the damage by not straightening it!!
Also, my hairdresser did recommend a product, the one she uses and buys in bulk from her supplier and sells on for a huge profit! I like to shop around.

Hiya,

I straighten my every day as well and the best thing i can advise is leave conditioner in for like ten minutes after you have shampooed your hair. Also use a conditioning treatment once or twice a week if your hair is really bad.

Then use a heat protecting spray before you dry your hair such as frizz ease or Lee Stafford both available from boots. Then once you have dry your hair, use Lee Stafford straightener heat defence spry and spray the segmented piece of hair midway to the bottom of your hair and only straighten that piece of hair a few times.

You shouldn't go over the particular piece of hair loads of times as the heat weakens the hair and then it tends to snap hence damged dry hair.

Also invest in a good shampoo and conditioner of the same brand that is specialised for dry damaged hair.

Hope this helps

I have the very same problem and use the GHD protection spray, as well as doing an intensive conditioning treatment at least once a week (Label M Intensive Conditioner is AMAZING, but is only available in Tony & Guy salons), I also use Lee Stafford Breaking Up shampoo and conditioner which is quite good as well and available in boots. Lee Stafford also does a range of heat protection sprays too which are cheap.

I had the same problem. Went to a new hairdresser and she had me start using Redken products. My favorite Redken product is called Heat Glide and it cost about $15, but it last for a long time. Anyway, after I have started using Redken products my hair has never looked so good.

I use redken and they're some good stuff. It really helps damage hair such as split ends and so on. And then every two month I would go and trim the ends. I have been doing this for a year and my hair looks GREAT! You should really try it.

You want to protect your hair-dont straighten it everyday. But if you insist on it try -Paul Mitchell Heat Seal. Or any product that has a heat protection in it. ANother tip-get a new hair dresser they should have recommended a product
