As a healthcare practioner after I order tests for a patient I tell them to return to the office to discuss results. Some radiologists discuss results of radiology tests with the patient after the test is over. It depends. But, neverthe less, I always tell them to return to my office to discuss results. Speaking of gallbladder ultrasounds for detection of gallstones. If no gallstones are seen I continue testing by ordering a HIDA scan. It allows me to see how the gallbladder is functioning. Sometimes gallstones are not present but the gallbladder can be filled with 'sludge' and not function well. This will cause the same symptoms as gallstones.....and the need for removal of the gallbladder is still needed. Also, since stomach ulcers and reflux can mimic some symptoms of gallbladder problems, I usually also order an Upper GI. Talk to your healthcare provider. A test for H. Pylori, liver function tests, amylace, lypase, and complete metabolic panel blood tests would be a good idea also. Maybe, it's already been done....don't want to step on another healthcare providers toes.

Technicians that perform tests aren't allowed to tell you anything. Call your doctor's office during office hours and ask to speak to a nurse, they can calm fears really well.
