I am going to get a piece done from my elbow to the top of my arm possibly going onto my chest if needed. I have a few themes in mind but I would like to get everyone's opinion.

there are so many things. you could do a movie theme. with a scene from your favorite movie or characters from your favorite movie.
you could do a japanese theme, they always seem to transition nicely onto the chest from the arm.
skulls
monkeys
a space ship in outer space
an atomic bomb exploding
there are so many ideas for tattoos that you could possibly get, but since you didn't give any indication of what you want or were thinking of getting those are the things that i pulled off of the top of my head.

Tattoos are really hott, as long as you dont have anything super corney on there and dont have naked girls either, most people dont like it unless they're perverted. I think the best thing to get is something that has to do with you. It should kind of be like a big collage where everything flows together.

Everyone's opinion??!?!?!?! Dude! You're totally missing the point of a tattoo. It doesn't matter what anyone says, thinks, whatever. A tattoo is an expression of you and only you. You're not ready for a tattoo if you have to ask everyones opinion.

You have to get a tattoo of what you like. it will be with you 24/7 .
