My husband is leaving March 26 for boot camp. We were told by hus recruiter that he would receive BAH and seperation allowance while he is gone. Is this true? I know the BAH is true but I am unsure about the separation pay since he is not leaving on a deployment. Any answers?? Thanks so much.

Yes he will get it even while at basic training. When my husband was going through basic he got it the whole way through. One thing you also will have to know for while he's in basic is that it will take a few weeks to get any pay b/c of all the paperwork etc so be prepared. I believe it took 5-6 weeks before my husband got his first payday but it was for all that he was owed up to that point. Good luck to both of you!
Oh and you WILL get BAS (food) unlike some people are saying. Basically from the moment your husband is on the bus going to wherever his training is you guys are entitled to everything. You will even be able to start using Tricare as soon as paperwork is done and you go get your ID.

Seperation pay is paid when the soldier is gone for more than 31 days straight. I'm not sure if he will get it while in basic, as my husband and I weren't married when he was there.
You WILL NOT get BAS (basic allowance for subsistence) as someone else said. BAS is paid to soldiers who are not eating at the chow hall. Since he eats at the chow hall during basic, he doesn't get that pay.
You might want to look into whether the BAH he gets will be for his duty location or your location. If you live in an area with a high-cost of living, there could be quite a bit of difference between BAH for his duty station and what it costs for you to rent a place.

Once he has been gone on active duty for 30 days straight, he will start to receive seperation pay. But only after the 30 days have passed.

Yeager, your best bet is to ask your husband's recruiter to put you in contact with the nearest military finance office. Call them and ask the questions you ask here. The rules change all the time, get your information from the source, not from a discussion board.

yes, you get FSH in Boot camp/Basic Training. It goes into effect on day 31 of him being gone.

He will get BAH but not separation pay. My husband got sick at bootcamp and was there for 4 months. He never received separation apy. He was a tech school for 3 months and never received separation pay. He is currently deployed in Iraq and he will gets paid his family separation pay when he returns.

you dont get bah until hes at his first command after ait. they will retro pay it. sounds like you need to get off your butt and get a job. during boot camp their pay goes to provide for their needs while there there is no seperation allowance for boot camp

Maybe you misheard, you get BAH and BAS, BAS is Basic allocation for Sustenance, money for food. I could be wrong
but that may be the case.
