It amazes me to hear that he was able to memorize everything from the mouth of the Angel. How exactly did P. Muhammad (PBUH) accomplish memorizing such a long book in one go??

God promised him that he shall remember it all, as the prophet used to repeat after Gabriel word by word giving no chance to the angel to finish a sentence, so God ordered the prophet to stop doing that and promised him that he shall not forget
''Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith, It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: But when We have prNay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):
omulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated):'' (16-19:75)
+ dont forget that the arabs are very articulate ppl and have the gift of words and memorising very long poems, thats y the Quran was a challenge to them.
i just wanna add that God challenges the ppl in their best field, like the romans were pioneers in medicine, thats y God gave Jesus(pbuh) miracles to revive the deads, also the ancient egyptiants were great at using black magic, thats y Moses(pbuh) was given miracles where no one could perform by magic. Thats God's way to prove that His messengers are no false pretentious.

God bless u

Rote Memory Skills

They did have better memory skills in those pre- and semi-literate days.
Thats not to say that everything he said did come from his angel (who contradicted the Gabriel of Luke's words about Jesus). For instance, my brother who went to a symposium on the Koran, told me Mohammed's early statements on Jews and Christians are quite friendly, later ones really hard. Obviously a real message from God wouldn't change, so these were his own adhoc ideas to give him more room to manoevre, especially with regard to taking harsh action. The non-muslim public probably tend to get presented the earlier words, but the later ones are supposed to be more authoritative for muslims, I think I am right in saying.

May the peace, blessing and mercy of Allah be upon you

The Qu'ran was not revealed on one shot, as you presume by over a period of many years. When the Prophet narrated what he recieved from the ArchAngel Gabriel he recited it to the people, he himself was illiterate (he could neither read nor write). The people he narrated it to memorized it as well, and the literate people wrote it down. The writings were then checked by the people reading it back to him to verify it was correct.

The amazing thing is that, MANY thousands of people have memorized the Qu'ran COMPLETELY. They are called Hafiz (which literally means 'perserver').

[054:032] And indeed, We have made the Qur'ân easy to understand and remember; then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

It has heard to happen over the period of time, over 20 years. Remember, the Bible was here already. I do not doubt that Muhammed sincerely believed to be a Prophet even though it was not so clear to him either. He was mocked and he said that he must be a prophet. He is very unlikely prophet though.

You can be honestly, sincerely and genuinely wrong.

this is actual a probability. yet another probability is that he had no experience of genuine and incorrect yet a prepared understand-how of the human psyche. He understood that in case you're a huge previous psycho and kill human beings left and genuine, human beings will agree which you're a 'prophet' just to maintain you from butchering them. in case you learn the Koran, study a complaint of the Koran from an atheist attitude, you will see that it is so self serving, so needless to say the words and the thinking of Mohammed that that is laughable that any one might have self assurance any of it. He reported that no you will think of they're extra effectual than him. That 'Allah' might forgive Mohammed for each thing Mohammed did. That the Jews (as quickly as they had rejected his claims of prophethood) have been undesirable human beings. and so on.and so on. all of it reeks of a butthurt pedo warlord telling people who have been afraid of him precisely what he wanted them to have self assurance. They agreed b/c of what Mo' did to those who disagreed with him and informed their little ones b/c they did no longer want themselves or their little ones to be tortured to death. the end result's... Islam.

Yes it is amazing that he could memorize everything he did. Allah (swa) gave him the knowledge to know all he did. There are many shiekhs who have memorized the quran over the years. Allah has the power to do anything he pleases. Muhammed (saw) is one of the most knowledgeable prophets and his teachings are the ones we follow only if we were has smart as him.

The Quran was supposedly piecemealed to Muhammad over 20+ years, verse by verse.

A monkey could remember one verse long enough to have it written down.

Simply, he is one of prophets, he can do things that the normal humans can't do, the Quran also is simple to memorize, that's how god make it.
