This is cruel, I am chawing on venison jerky from a local native. But I have been where you are before so I have lots of ideas.

If you have a processor or blender, fruit shakes and purees. With or without yogurt. If you do not have a blender you should get one. Let me send you a URL to show you what I use. Can do it right in the cookpot.

Mashed potatoes. Make them a bit on the loose side by adding milk or cream or chicken broth. Steam up some squash or carrots. You can also puree up meats and toss it into the mess. I have had to do these things many times.

Pancakes and waffles cut into small pieces. Kind of gum them with a glass of OJ nearby.

Eggs in any way shape or form. Soft boiled is easiest. Also good with mashed potatoes. Soft cheeses.

Make chicken soup, then puree some soup chicken with the carrots. That goes over well, as would pureed vegetable soup.

Make fruit compote using any fruit without the peels, especially fresh peaches, plums, apples, pears, apricots. Cook without added liquid, then puree.Don't forget the prunes!

Oatmeal with pureed fruit. If your dad likes citrus fruit, pare the fruit and cut sections between the dividing membranes. He should be able to eat cut sections. Cook with raisins or currants so they are very soft and plump.

In truth with a blender or electric chopper you can eat anything everyone around you is eating only you puree. Not to be rude but that is how I fed my children from day one of foods rather than spend a fortune on prebottled foods. I also have had many months when I could not eat solids and this helped me.

Believe me, as happy as you will be to get your dentures, you will spend a month adjusting to them! But a friend of mine went through what you are last year. OMG when he got his new teeth he looked amazing! Suddenly he smiled widely and his cheeks were filled out. He dropped 20 years. Even shaved off the old soup strainer!

Egg noodles with butter, parm cheese and garlic powder. Scrambled eggs with pepper, onion, and cheese. Soft flaky fish. Anything that you can squish in your hand such as well cooked veggies. Just be careful of foods that have seeds or small pastas such as orzo, stuff that can get stuck in the pockets.

Mashed potatoes, or put your food in a blender, my cousin once had his jaw broke and put all his food in a blender, even a big mac, I know it looks gross but still tastes the same!
