Computer Wiring guide Help?

I have 4 wirtes that go to my cd drive 2 black ones 1 yellow 1 red
Are they AC or DC?
If they are DC! How do I hook them up to batterys?

DC! Yellow wire is +12V and Red wire is +5V. The black wires are the return wires. But why are you hooking it up to batteries?
