Any suggestions?
So i'm 20, and thus far in life I have been academically suspended from a university, and now I need a new start. I'm going to a community college to make up some credits, and if i pass them all I can go back to the previous university its so small and highs chool like. The thing is I don't want to go back there, nor do i want to spend another 3 years in college...i'm about 2 years from graduating, and could finish sooner with summer school! I'm considering the military to serve my country while start over, but i know once i do that there is no turning back for four years! any advice?

It sounds to me like you want the military to make this decision for you, and decide it they will ! Once you sign that paper, your @ss is theirs for as many years as you sign up for. There is no more indecision because they will make all the important decisions for you. If you can live with that scenario for the next four years, than I say, go for it !

As it is, you're just wasting mom and dads hard earned money and accomplishing nothing ! You, like so many people your age need time to grow up, nothing in life will mature you faster than dodging sniper fire in Basra or Baghdad ! If you think this is more your style, you should move in that direction. If not, make up your mind to shape up and fly right. It's time to shiit or get off the pot !

Do Not Enlist !!! I have alot of uncles who are retired officers from the military and they told me that the best way to go in is by being commissioned as an officer. Finish your education and degree first! If you do want to go and talk to a recuiter, do not! I repeat! do not sign anything! My uncle who is a retired officer from the navy told me this story about this one recruiter who tricked his nephew into signing some paperwork that would get him into an officer school in the military, apparently he fell for it and got ended up being enlisted. If your really interested, try doing an ROTC program at a university. Its very competitive though, but if you got the grades, GPA, and pass the officer qualifying test with high scores, you should make it !

That's a tough question to answer, you have to decide for yourself. The military is not bad, and you do not have to sign up for 4 years either. You can do as little as 2 in the Army. You have to weigh your options and decide what is best for you. In the military you are going to get more discipline, some life experience as well as some extra college money to back to school after you serve. Try to get a job in the military that closely matched what you want to do in the civilian world, that way you can get the job experience as well. Good Luck

Get your college degree then go to the military. The degree will advance you to the rank of an Officer and the military experience will prepare you for the rest of your life.

actually, you dont have to do four years. and if you finish, then enlist, rather than going officer, you can get on the student loan repayment plan and they'll pay off like up to 60k worth of college loans, plus youll still get a bonus. although to get the SLRP, and a bonus, you may have to do a 4 yr minimum. but you sound a lot like me when i joined, in college, tired of it. youll either love the army, or be that much more motivated to go back to school when you get out.

are you able to particularly see your self in the protection stress? that decision is an somewhat, very severe one, and it is likewise one which you would be unable to particularly produce human beings make for you. possibly you may evaluate in basic terms taking a destroy from college fullyyt, detect a activity which you would be able to help your self with, and on an analogous time relax, and "start up over". such as you reported there particularly is not any turning back extraordinarily pondering the present concern on the subject of our protection stress. My suggestion to you is to take a destroy , like I reported, and sparkling your concepts- considering the fact which you'll be apologetic approximately your decision in the close to destiny. wish that helped you!

It may not turn the clock back for you but ahead.
It seems you don't have the fire in your stomach for college.
You seem to lack discipline.

Join the military and get a grip on reality than go back when you do have the drive to finish college.

My advice: Join the reserves. That way you can go to college and serve your country at the same time.

Depends on what you want out of life.

If you want to get real life challenges and go to exotic places all over the world, then join the military.

ANYway that is what they told me and I seen places like Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait, Lots of Germany and most of Europe.
