Is it just the 10 commandments? If so could you please list them?

According to Christians, sin is something you don't like so you try to stop others from doing it. Apparently Christians think that the world revolves around them.

Several others have mentioned the big 10, and the great 2, but it can go even deeper. There are some things that are a sin for some people, but not others. Obviously, anything that is specifically mentioned in the bible as a sin, is. However, what about drinking alcohol. The bible says, "Drink not unto drunkenness," yet, Christ's first miracle was turning water into wine. That infers that on some level, drinking is acceptable. So, is it a sin to drink? If drinking causes me to break any of the commandments, or causes my brother to stumble, yes. Or, if I think it is a sin, but continue to partake, for me, I am sinning. However, if I have prayed about it, and God has not revealed it to me as sin, for me, it is not sin.

There are a LOT of specific "sins" in the Bible, the ten commandments pretty much sum it up. See Exodus 20; those were the initial commands for Israel. They can give you a general idea of what sin is.

SIN is error or wickedness. In a nutshell, it is violating the two greatest commandments in one way or another:
-Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength
-Love your neighbor as yourself

In the more specific, read through the Bible, especially the new testament. Romans talks a lot about sin and repentance. Jesus told those he taught what they must do. (those who steal must stop stealing and work, tax collectors should not collect extra money to line their pockets, etc.)

Sin is braking any command that God has given to us.

For the Jews, that means 365 commands on things not to do.
And 248 commands of things to do.

I am not sure how many apply to Christians.
We do not have to follow the dietary law or the sacrifices for example.

Anything that seperates you from God.

Romans has a good list.

The 10 commandments are not meant to be a listing of sins. God, like a good father, wants us to follow the 10 commandments for our own good. Like a father telling his kid not to play in the street.

SIN IS ACTUALLY DISOBEDIENCE OF GOD'S COMMANDMENTS - AND YOU CAN SIN IN YOUR HEART AND WILL BE JUDGED THE SAME AS IF YOU DID IT .

It is encompassed in the ten commandments, but is even more clearer in the two great commandments - because love of God precedes the love of your fellow men - which means you must love your neighbours in the Godly love - self giving love.

Technically, a violation of a law of god. But since there is no evidence of even the existence of a god, let alone of what its laws might be if it did, the concept is void. The strictures laid down in the bible can be ignored, as it is a work of fiction.

A sin is any action or inaction, word, or attitude that is contrary to God's command to "love your God with all of your heart, mind, and soul, and your neighbor as yourself."

Sin is anything that go'es against Gods word.

So, read the bible, see what Gods plan is for you, and then you will know what is against him and his way.

Now, yes, God installed a bit of faith and right and wrong inside each and every one of us when we were created. We do still chose to go against our own knowledge of right and wrong even if we never heard or read one word of God.

Nope.

Anything the church does not approve of is called a sin!
