i keep getting yelled at by many of the mexican women around me that i should not be shirtless around the little ones.
most of the american women though dont whine about it unless i have no pants in which case i dont go around the children.
so is this a mexican thing or is it bad for a guy to not wear a shirt around little ones?

Oh please...the one above me has serious issues (teacher). It's a matter of personal choice. If you are in your own yard then I would tell her if she didn't like it not to look. However if you are at her house then "when in Rome"... I have noticed that in the Mexican culture men are the dominant ones who look after and set the example for the women and children. I live in a Mexican neighborhood and have NEVER seen a male with his shirt off even in July when it is over 100 degrees.

Keep your shirt on or at least a T-shirt while inside the house.
Never come to the dinner table without a shirt.
No shirt is fine while swimming only. Around women wear a shirt out of respect. All women because race has nothing to do with it. As far as the children, they'll want to take off their clothes if you are allowed to take off your clothes.

Young children imitate what the adults around them do. Since in most places in our society, clothing is required, it is good to set an example for the little ones by wearing a shirt most of the time.
it is OK to go shirtless at a swimming pool, or when doing yardwork or certain athletic activities.

Everything an adult does around a child can be considered a lesson in life. What do you think that you are teaching children by walking around without a shirt? You are teaching them not to be modest about their bodies. A practice demonstrating lack of modesty will only be accepted in a society of lower classes. If you want these children to grow up with behaviors providing every benefit of acceptance in their neighborhood and community, please show a more appropriate role model and put your shirt back on.

I dont know, I live around nothing but Mexicans and I have never seen any of them do that. I dont think there is anything wrong with it.

Do what you want. Just keep your pants on. My neighbor walks around all the time without a shirt, and there's tons of kids on my street.

well there are guys without shirts on on tv and billboards and friggin everywhere. its no big. my shirts off 3 months out of the year. who cares. ****************************************
