There are no drugs that stop you drinking, however there is a drug that can be given which produces severe adverse reactions when combined with alcohol. Antabuse, however it can occasionally produce a very severe reactions with alcohol, including death!
Campral can also be used again only when the patient is already abstinent. It acts to decrease the craving for alcohol.
Unfortunately in both cases you need to have found the willpower to stop drinking first.
The very best of luck.

There is a drug called adibus(spelling) that if taken will cause you to become violently ill when you drink Alcohol. It does not however take the desire to drink away. I think willpower and AA are a better bet.

Hiya not that i am aware of or i would have put my husband on the drug.W hy not just try through willpower or supportive friends to cut down in the week and just have a good session at wkends plus you wont be doing your body any good giving that sort of punishment constantly. Or maybe you should think about joining a support group where you can work together as a team.

there is a medication that will help your cravings but usually this is done in a rehab center. Alcoholic who stop drinking need to be supervised because your heart rate can go up you can suffer several problem. I know my mom had to detox and she had the heart racing and dizziness. But the meds worked. Good luck. I hope by saying that you need to be supervised in a rehab center didn't upset you or make you not want to stop drinking.

Antibuse. Is a medication prescribed by your GP. If you drink whilst taking this tablet then you would be violently sick and can become quite ill. Your GP would advise you of all likely symptoms but if you want to stop and you are finding it hard then maybe it would be worth a try. Ask your GP for more info.

There's a vitamin deficiency which can cause alcohol drinking, I donot have the book I read about it with me but I think is the B vitamins. I'll email you if u don't mind) when I find out the exact ones. But vitamins should help as they do with so many things which the doctors don't realize so many things are caused by vitamin deficiency.

You have to use your will power. But i suggest you come of alcohol slowly as if you stop completely it puts your body into shock and more alcoholic's die that way then drinking too much. Good luck!
