It's always the same 2 people every time. They're Jehovas Witnesses. Nothing against the couple and they're really nice but damn near weekly they come down our driveway unannounced and univited to try and convert us. We have No Trespassing signs everywhere and we have repeated asked (then told) them to STOP coming to our house. I've even threatened to call the cops yet they still come. ANY suggestions on how the hell to get rid of these two?

Possible solutions

1. Wear tin foil hats when they come round and pretend you believe or worship aliens.

2. When they come round get a chainsaw with ketchup on it and have your husband call out "have those sacrifices came round yet? they normally come around now"

3. Get a fake gun turret and put it around your door and attatch a motion sensor to it and fit with an alarm that goes off loudly.

4. Ignore them

5. Call police and get a restraining order

6. Get a gate with a pin code thing so that only you will get in along with those you can trust.

Hmmm, there are websites that offer answers and questions and debate points with JW if you are religious. If you aren't or if you have no interest in debating with them then stop answering the door or talking to them. They may be nice, but they are being rude. At a certain point you are entitled to be rude back. If they keep coming around then I would open the door long enough to get their names then I would call the cops. I am sure they are breaking a law or two regarding soliciting. You have warned them.

Or just squirt them with a garden hose like you would a dog that wanders onto your lawn.

EDIT:
Guess I touched a nerve with the garden hose comment. Truth be told it's only something I've fantasized about on an early saturday morning when they wouldn't stop ringing my doorbell.

if this is true, call the local kingdom hall and ask to speak to an elder and tell him what is going on and have your name put on the do not call list. that will work. I am sorry that you are having this problem. we are told not to go on someone property when there is a no trespassing sign on.

Call the cops. I just called a cop buddy and he said they don't mind putting restraining orders on JW's. I usually tell them I am letting the dogs loose in 10 seconds but that might get you into some hot water.

The next time you see them, get a videocamera and record yourself or your husband telling them calmly but firmly, "Get off my property and don't come back. If you do, I will call the police and have you arrested for trespassing."

For a trespassing arrest you have to have told them to leave and don't come back, so the video would be evidence that you've done this.

Then if they come back, do it. Don't worry, the fine or whatever would be minor and may make them happy because they're being persecuted just like Jesus said.

if they were true followers, they would not push to this level. call the cops and file a complaint. if they come in your yard again, call the cops and have the complaint pressed.

their pushiness is what has kept me from even looking more at their ways and beliefs. Cause they break rule 1 of Jesus....do not push, do not preach.....spread his word instead. meaning idle conversation, common talk, etc.

IF what you are saying is true, go to the local Kingdom Hall and explain the situation. The elders there will help to resolve the issue peacefully. Following the stupid suggestions here will only make you appear stupid. And I know you don't want that.

If you have told them not to bother you anymore and they continue to come you have every right to file a complaint with the police. Expressing beliefs or inviting others to discuss them is one thing. Repeatedly approaching you when you have asked them to stop is harassment. They need to understand there are boundaries to respect here.

get a guard dog
call the cops as you see them arrive, they are pushing the boundaries, while with good intentions they are going about things the wrong way. i would say not to answer the door,or act like you are not there but it is your house and you shouldn't have to put yourself out on account of them.

Actually call the cops. Get a restraining order. That sort of thing.
