Well since you asked, I will be honest with you. The colors, in and of themselves are very pretty, but I think having the men wear blue and the girls in purple is going to look like a bruise. Since you obviously like those colors, I would use them, but toned down a bit. For example, have the girls wear purple, and carry flowers which are a mixture of various shades of blue and purple. If those will be your only colors, make sure the florist uses many different shades, dark, light and everything in between. Otherwise the flowers will photograph as one dark blob. The guys could wear a traditional tux in black, but use alternating blue and purple blooms for their boutonnieres. Black tuxes never, ever look out of style. I think if you have the guys wear blue it is going to "date" your photos, and you may look back and wish you had gone in another direction. Good luck to you!

It would have to be more of a lavender for the bridesmaids. dark purple comes out terrible in photographs. Their bouquets should have two shades of lavender/purple/white and some mauve pink..and the ushers should be in either midnight blue or medium gray. I like the medium gray better. The flower girl should be in white with a purple sash with a bow in the back of her dress with her bouquet having purple and white and pink flowers. Or she could have a white basket filled with pink/purple and lavender flower petals which she will throw out as she walks down the isle. Ring bearer's suit should match the color that the ushers wear. Groom should have the same color tux, but with tails. That dark purple in our catholic church is the color that all our saints, Jesus]s statue is covered with during lent. What I am trying to say that shade of purple is very somber. Lavender is a spring color..Go with lavender. It will look much softer and have the look of Spring.

Blue and purple are my very favorite colors and I think it sounds absolutely beautiful! It's your special day and if that's what you want, do it! You could have the ushers wear a cumberbun/sash and bow tie of the same shade of purple that the bridesmaids are wearing and the bridesmaids wear a sash of the same shade of blue the ushers are wearing. There are so many flowers of blue and purple coloring that your choices should be many!! It sounds like a fabulous combination to me and I'm sure it will be breathtaking!! Good Luck and Congratulations!!!!!!

That would look very pretty. Mix up the flower colors...some deep blues and violets, and some lighter. There are so many different blues and purples you could do for the bridesmaids...I, personally, like violet or lilac. Also, you may consider having an accent color that pops, like a hot pink or fuchsia or even tangerine, mixed into the flowers.

That would look pretty cute! My cousin had a wedding similar to that. The ushers wore baby blue and the bridesmaids however wore a light pink. It looked super cute. Great Idea! i don't really know what to add. the flower thing would also look gorgeous. Good luck on your wedding! =]

I think it will be fine often the colors look very similar and tuxes dont have that much color in them. My wedding we did light blue and lavander and it was very nice. We had all our bridesmaids and groomsmen in purple and my husband had blue and my dress had blue beading. Everyone was telling me it would look bad but I did it anyway and it was great and you can't really tell in the picture or anything anyway. Do what you want it's your day.

Be careful about which blues and purples you are going for, you don't want the event to look like a bruise.
I would choose either of those colors and a complementing lighter color. Example: Purple with cream or Blue with a light yellow.

what about like a periwinkle color? its a mixture of blue and pirple. you could still use the same flowers, because thoes colors would match it, and the bridesmaids and groomsmen would also match the bridesmaids.

You should have whatever colors you want, it's your wedding! I have a peridot engagement ring, our wedding bands are black, and my wedding dress is a pale pink. A lot of people, namely my parents, have turned their noses up at this, but who cares honestly! You should only worry about making you and your guy happy, and if blue and purple make you happy, then go for it! :)
