Some are better than others... get the ones that are a bunch of individual peices.. they go all over your head and they are attached with little metal links and the base of the hair. other kinds (glues and weaves) are more damaging. you can wash and treat your hair relatively normally with these and the look pretty good too. they are expensive though! about $500... they are a bitt uncomfortable for a few days but after that you hardly feel them. but beware, once you have them you may never want to go back!

As the other answers indicate, there is a degree of damage that will be done, as with any type of hair processing or altering. There are lots of other factors to consider, also. It is expensive, and requires a lot of maintenence, both at the salon, and at home. If you are used to shorter, non-ethnic hair, easily manitained hair, this can be a gigantic adjustment. It also hurts, and is uncomfortable. It feels like you have a helmet on your head. Not just getting them put in, all the time. You have to wear a cap while swimming, or they can become very damaged. Essentially, it is somewhat of a lifestyle change and commitment. But, it's a trade off for your dream hair oftentimes. You just have to make sure you really really want them. Above all, if you do decide to get them, make absolutely certain you do not get yak hair. Order the hair yourself from a reputable dealer. superhairfactory.com is the best, and Boheme brand is the best of the affordable brands.

I lost a lot of hair after my daughter was born and I used extensions to make my hair look thicker. I loved them but not being able to brush your hair properly takes some getting used to. Don't leave them in for too long or they will wreck your natural hair. And make sure you go somewhere with a good reputation - there's nothing worse than a bad set of extensions!

hi,
It really depends on what type of hair extensions that you would like, i would suggest the clip in ones if you are not sure about them, that way you can take them out if your not happy.I don't know about Toni & guy, maybe talk to someone who has had hair extensions put in by them. Hope this helps you. Good luck.

Unless they are very well done, I would say not. They have to be glued on to your hair & can damage your own hair or drop off. They are expensive & need redoing quite regularly. Why not get a hairpiece which you can use until your own hair has grown long enough?

I would say no.
Hair extentions to me are vain, like can't you wait for your hair to grow?
Or, why can't you be happy and work with your hair?
Yeah, those are just some things that just POPPED in my head...
Anyways, I'm not saying you can't go for them, but just be aware of how often you use them, because if it's used all the time....It could look SO FAKE.

Hair extensions are very nice but they do damage your hair so i would think about it. If you really want them then go ahead.
