You should accept the atonement provided by Jesus Christ it covers all sin.

It depends on what you mean by "repent". If you mean be sorry, then: yes, even if the sin is accidental if you did something wrong or hurt someone you should feel some sorrow or remorse.

However, "repent" literally means to turn and go in the opposite direction. It implies that, when you commited the sin, you were knowingly moving yourself in the wrong direction.

To repent not only means to be sorry about your sin, but also to be willing to stop (or at least try) the behavior and amend your life.

Therefore, if you sinned by accident you should be remorseful and do whatever you can to correct any harm you caused. Repentance, however, is not necessary because you didn't do it deliberately. (If you are careless and allow the same accident to happen, again, it's not so much an accident and you'd need to repent that)

If you're Roman Catholic, your church has devised a unique set of rules covering what requires repentance and what doesn't, so you should ask a priest.

I think whoever told you that is getting you all worked up over nothing. God isn't a rule stickler. If you did something by accident then you didn't mean to do it and God won't hold you accountable for it. Besides, we could never repent of every single little thing we have ever done. It is impossible. The blood of Jesus also covers all those sins we didn't remember or mean to do.

We are responsible to repent for sins when we become aware of them. I suspect an accidental sin is one you didn't know was a sin until it was pointed out to you or God revealed it to you. At the point of understanding you are responsible to deal with the sin but it doesn't make you a bad person. It simple means your growing and learning more and more.

I think you should get rid of sin consciousness.
That you should grow.
Get out of the sand box.
Heb 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Accept that It was a one time sacrifice for all sin. Not going to get on the cross again. To believe this for yourself. Not to look at the scripture and not accept it for yourself.
Heb 9:8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed, while the outer tabernacle is still standing,
Heb 9:9 which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience,
Outer tabernacle?
Outer worship.
Not in spirit and in truth.
Going to an outer building.
Not the inner worship, in your heart.

Only willful sin needs to be repented of. Accidental sin is covered by the blood of Jesus for God looks at the intent of the heart. At the same time if you spill a glass of water on the person sitting next to you it would be appropriate to say, I'm sorry. We serve a God who understands better than we realize. You wouldn't hold your child accountable for a accident would you?
Read Hebrews 4:12
Also to dear ole stefan above me here he needs to read Numbers 15:24-26

If you sin and you feel bad about it, something is telling you that you did wrong. To try and forgive yourself ask God to have mercy on you and do not repeat a sin if it makes you feel bad. Even if the sin was accidental something must of lead up to it. So yes repent and pray for your soul and those whom are sinners.

Repent of accidental sins like you would of ones you did when you knew what was right. Sin is human nature, we ask forgiveness of everything.

Sins are not accidents. They must be done with some knowledge and consent. However you can still sin in what you fail to do. Rely on a well-informed conscience and talk to a priest if you have questions.

God Bless!

In the day that you sin, if you don't realize it, you're not guilty.

In the day that you realize your sin, you become guilty and responsible to the sacrifice.

That's what Moses had to say about it.

Ignorance is no excuse! I don't care if you were raised on an island noone has ever heard of! All those people of the third world that managed to avoid white mans wars and haven't heard of Jesus are gonna burn in hell as sure as the Sun hangs from a wire! Just because you don't know something exists is no reason to have no faith in it, sinners!
