Hi,
I just got a ticket for racing on highway. I was on the left lane and changed 2 lanes over to fill gas. The cop pulled me over in gas station. I explained him that I needed gas. I only had 2 gallons in the tank and I have proof for that since I filled up after that. The cop dint know how fast I was going. He suspected that I was racing with some other car and gave me racing on highway ticket. I am not sure if they caught the other guy. It was bmw 330 and the cop who caught me was talking to another cop trying to catch the bmw. Is there any way I can know if they caught him or not? I was going to plead guilty before. But I asked the question of whether I should plead guilty or not and I got several answers and majority said plead guilty so I am pleading guilty. I have a clean record. Whats the best way to plead guilty. Do I need an attorney. I am 19yrs and drive a hyundai(not a sports car). I live in Edison, NJ. How much is it going to cost me to remove like most points?

Catching the other guy is irrelevant to the court and your case , just as the type of car (hyundai) is irrelevant.
A 2nd violator does NOT clear you, it just means maybe 2 guilty parties instead of 1 .
If you are found guilty , there is no "paying" to remove points . . . they are there for a specified number of years.
Given that you are 19 and may not be able to afford insurance after that hits the fan, you may wish to consult an attorney.

It will cost you time. It stays on your record X # of years, which varies, then is removed. 5 to 7 years usually, sometimes less. You can't buy your way out of it.
