Selfish actions are of course allowed. Should you choose to, you can do what you want. BUT it is not the action that is an issue, it is the events that happen later.

Does the golden rule work? ALL you have to do, is put the shoe on the other foot. Is the convenience that convenient now?

In order for evil to work, it just takes the inactiveness of good men.

If you want life and liberty to prevail, you have to believe that good men do the right thing AND consider the effect of your action - or inaction.

Absoulutly the golden rule still works!! Its all about KARMA!!! What comes around goes around! It should matter to you how your actions affect others. I firmly believe that you should treat others the way you want to be treated. Even if you dont believe in karma, treating others well is the right thing to do.

Golden rule works for me. Every time I do something good, it comes back to me in some way.

The golden rule should work, but the truth of it all is that since we are all humans, we are naturally selfish so of course we only think about ourselves, don't beat yourself up about it.
