E-File tax refund??

Question

Does anyone know what days of the week the IRS makes E-File deposits to your checking accounts?? I thought it was Tuesdays and Fridays but I want to know for sure...Thanks!!!

The IRS updates their 'Where's My Refund' page on Wednesdays---so you can check your status there for your direct deposit date.

The IRS only deposits on Fridays. Here is the official IRS Efile Schedule that shows the days that they do their direct deposits:

I think the reason some people thought that they did deposits on Tuesdays was because initially, when you check your refund status on their site, they always give you a Tuesday date of when to expect your refund. However, as the time gets closer, they will update their information and move the date from Tuesday to the Friday before. Hope that helps!

The first 2 answers are correct. In normal years ALL refunds are processed on Fridays. Some answers on this site have indicated that as a result of processing delays this year, some returns are being processed on other days of the week. I can't find an OFFICIAL source to confirm or deny those posts.

I work for a tax firm in my state and the IRS deposits on wednesdays and fridays.
