I don't think that it is up to us if he is a true christian or not, but I will say that he is a "feel good" preacher, he says what people want to hear, rather than what they need to hear. He stays away from the controversial issues and debates, which I am not all for, but everyone is different.

a lot of people think of they're Christians. Even in my area dissimilar the seventy 5,000 inhabitants will boost their arms up if asked this question that they are 'Christian.' yet what does this term somewhat propose? It potential to be a Christ follower who believes in each and every be conscious that proceeds from the mouth of God. And this God of course stated that if we upload or subtract to those recorded words we don't belong to Him and could be cursed. the very actuality that the Mormons have tried to rewrite the Bible by potential of publishing their own version of it stated as, 'The e book of Mormon' proves that they don't belong to God. each and every little thing approximately this sect, their doctrines, and what they pontificate is opposite to Gods recorded be conscious. Its so cleverly finished that the traditional person who has approximately 20% Bible understanding does not decide on it, and so be led off course. And if Joel Olsteen says this then he himself is a pretend prophet.

I love his show ... it's a great supplement to my faith. I wasn't at his "Baptism" (all types of Christianity is united through Baptism) ---> I'm fairly positive he's Christain.

You are right to question the validity of a teacher. We are given guidelines as how to recognize false teachers.

In short we are to be careful of attaching ourselves to teachers who:

(1) do not teach what the Scriptures say, i.e., "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce My servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not" (Revelation 2:20-21), or

(2) do not practice the Truth they profess to teach, i.e., "Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples, Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do for to be seen of men" (Matthew 23:1-5).

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
(1 Timothy 6:3-5)

I don't listen to him. He's on TV, right? I don't trust any TV evangelist.

Not to me, either...but it is not up to me, or you, to judge him. That's God's job.

Or, did you get a promotion and we didn't hear about it?
