someone suggested a Cobra XRS 9930.

Would prefer one that worked front and rear, and did not show through the windscreen.

Thank you for the gratutitous suggestions about not getting one. Perhaps you did not notice the question was not "shall I get a detector."

Perhaps I should word it differently. Let's try this one:

I am going to buy a radar detector. If you know which brand and or model is good, please answer this question. Otherwise, don't bother. Thanks.

I have had a radar detector in my car since the day after I got my license and its helped my lead foot get out of trouble many times and a few times it just warned me I wasn't fast enough to get out of the gas petal when the cop ran it on me when I was right next to him.........anyway I have bought and used Whistler radar and laser for several years and it has 360 on it to pick up radar in all directions it only cost me $40 at walmart but saved my foot a lot of money.........I don't condone speeding but come on who hasn't at one time or another. Good luck and be safe,a radar detector only warns you of police .......sometimes..... cops are sneaky

The best is to not have one - this way you keep your alertness to what is going on around you on the proper level.
