My friend's wife is about to give birth, he seems to be concerned about the three months or so that he wont't be having sex. I told that it might not be so hard as there will be new bundle of joy in their presence he might not be focusing on sex so much.
Is there anyone who has gone through this who might be able to give me some pointers for him?

He needs to get a grip. I don't want to sound insensitive, but he needs to be MORE sensitive to his wife. She is about to push something the size of a small watermelon, out of her body. If it takes her the full 6 weeks, then he needs to be understanding. His sexual urges are his DESIRES...not his needs. He can survive for 6 weeks without actual intercourse. Trust me.

Tell him to keep in mind that there are more ways to have fun....and beleive me, for that first couple of weeks anyways, there won't be a whole lot of time for that anyways......New babys take a lot of time.....but it is not three months....most docs say six weeks...but I know my wife and I were back at it in 3-4 with both of our kids.

Just tell your friend he would want the goods to be in tact. After childbirth a woman's muscles, nerves, etc. are totally stretched out so you have to at least wait until everything tightens back up, that the juices are flowing and that she can enjoy it too!

the rule is 6 weeks, but with our first we only waited three, with the second we waited two. (basically once I stopped bleeding) Reassure him that BJ's can help get him through for a while, and though most doc's won't give you birth control until the six weeks are up, if his wife is agreeable, there are always condoms.
