It's NOT a good question. Only idiots call us Scotch. Scotch is a whiskey, not a race of people. We are Scots or Scottish and I think the scotch egg would have been better asking the question than you...

Maybe nothing stains them like when I scotch guarded my sofa....or perhaps it's the recommended drink to go with them....loved the question...made me think....lol

No idea..............but,the dish was invented by the London food store Fortnum & Mason, in 1738. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a Scottish dish.
