To fear God means to have a fear of displeasing Him, hurting his feelings because He cares for us.

A self help book? You wouldn't have wanted to meet me before I became a Christian. I used to be a non believer and the best thing I ever did was read the Bible and apply it in my life. I'm a different person now :O)

Jett. Congratulations on your baby. My Wife and I are expecting our first baby to :O) I don't hate anyone, I love all of you. I just asked this question to make a point. I have lived in the world and did it all, then I studied the scriptures and became a Christian. You don't see a difference in peoples lives that do not believe?

Lynn. I'm not judging anyone, just asking if you see a difference. You can do what you want, we are all created with the gift of free will. Did I hit a nerve or what?

Yeah the Christian way of life is fun! You get to rape little boys in church! Ain't that fun? You get to murder, steal, rape, and torture people and get away with it because all you have to do is confess, and then God loves you again!
You can kill infidels (non-believers) because a fictional character in a book tells you to! Ain't that fun?

Well, let's see here.
I don't sleep around, because I can't come crying to God if I get an STD.
I don't do drugs, because I don't want to waste the only go-around I get.
I don't get drunk, unless there are a lot of Christians on here trying to prestidigitate Pascal's Wager into something that doesn't have quite so many glaring logical flaws.
I don't break the law, because I don't think I'd like jail.
And I'm not married yet, but when I do, I won't cheat on my wife, because that would be breaking a promise I made to her.
But hey, if I'm a Christian, I can do any or all of that stuff as long as I feel reallllllly sorry about it afterwards.

Too bad as a Christian your primary goal isn't to make the right decisions about how to live your life, but instead to try and figure out what some book or deity is saying you should do. Atheists choose not to have irresponsible sex, do drugs, or break the law for rational reasons. They don't need some magical flying spaghetti monster telling them those things are a bad idea, they can figure it out for themselves.
But obviously you are not a very good Christian since you are so hung up on proving that the "God" way is rationally correct, do you judge everything that "God" says to see whether you find the end results acceptable? If you didn't like the result, would you reject that page of the Bible? If so, who is the deity, God or You? Having a little trouble finding your faith?

Funny how you chose a username that happens to be a movie about a schitzophrenic.....
First, Atheists don't care if you continue to believe in God.
Second. Not all Atheists do drugs, get Aids and become alcaholics.
These are lies that your Godly Christian friends/pastors/priests have told you. They aren't true. Your Christian way of life sounds wonderful until you tell someone who doesn't believe in the same way as you that they will be burning for eternity in pain and torture.
Personally, I can't morally justify condemning other people for things that are largely out of their hands. That is a loving Christian trait.
Third. My life is actually quite good, especially when compared to many Christians who live life scared to death that they will break God's will. I know you may not feel that way, but many Christians do.
Fourth, if you were to live up to all the tenents and laws in the bible, you would be a murderous killer. Your bible has many verses that require you to kill outsiders and people who make mistakes within your fold. You may say that OT laws don't apply, but if you take a close look at your beliefs, you will find that you choose OT laws to follow, and disregard others. Do you eat Pork? That is against your God's will, in the same way that sexual promiscuity is. Why do you get to choose and not be held accountable?

What is this: "Your lives are miserable !!! Wake up !!! Where are you trying to lead Christians, to your way of life? NO THANKS !!!"?
Am I leading Christians anywhere? Is my life miserable? Are you trying to even all of the people who are not like you? What is this "wake up" thing? Hey, why don't you wake up?
It is YOU who tries to lead me and other people like me to your way of life!!! Fortunately, there is the United States Constitution that protects me from people like you. It protects me from people who are trying to make me live the way they think is right. By the way, you are so wrong. There is no law that says that: "Every person must be a Christian. If you are not, legal actions may apply." In fact, it says: "People are free to choose any religion or NO RELIGION AT ALL."
About breaking the law: Are you not breaking the law right now? You are trying to trespass at people's freedom and their way of life. Are you not? There is possibly no other purpose of your "question."
The bottom line is: I am an atheist and I turn out to be much better person than you are. I don't do any of the things you listed above. And the most important thing is: I don't do what you do; I don't bother people the way you do. And yet, I don't try to make ANYONE IN THE WORLD live the way I live.
PS: May all the people hear me; live the way they like and leave other people alone. Period.

I am atheist. I have never done drugs, I do not drink, I plan to live a long life and leave an old corpse behind.
I do not limit myself to sex with one partner for my whole life, but I do use protection when I have sex (with a person I have strong feelings for). I have never had an STD.
You seem to think morals come from your religion - it has already been proven that morals do not come from religion, otherwise wouldn't Buddhists have different morals from Christians? They have basically the same morals...
Christianity is unnatural and you are missing out on so much in life for the sake of an imaginary god.
I hate your atheist-bashing, because everything you are saying about atheists is wrong. The majority of us have strong morals. We aren't the ones who persecute and ostracise people based on silly things that the Bible says.

This is a stupid, exhausting question. I don't know a single atheist who lives their life like that. I know more than one religious person who is a drug addict. (I know NO atheists who are drug addicts. Not to say that there aren't ANY, I just have never met one.) I know PLENTY of religious people who have sexually transmitted diseases and cheat on their spouses. I don't know any atheists who've died young. Over 80% of the prison population is Christian, (which is comparable to the percentage of Christians in the U.S.) while LESS than 1% is atheists. (Despite the fact that over 5% of the population of the U.S. is atheist.)
I also don't know a SINGLE atheist who is miserable. Your question is based on ignorance, and sounds it. Don't think you're "getting us" with the statement that you used to be a non-believer and acted like that. If you did, then that's YOU. It's not representative of the majority. The majority of us have the brains and common sense to live our lives well. You apparently didn't have brains or common sense if you didn't live your life well, so sorry, you aren't the one to be telling anyone else what to believe. Why would we listen to someone who apparently has no brains or common sense?

Ignorance at it's best.
Since when are Christians pure and Atheists the immoral ones? I am Catholic, but the last time I checked the people that were doing what you described above are in fact Christians, Jews, Catholics, Hindus, Atheists , etc. Just because Atheists don't believe in God, doesn't mean they are immoral. Atheists don't try to lead Christians into doing immoral things. Christians are perfectly capable of screwing up their own lives and do time and time again. People just need to take responsibility for themselves and not blame others.
Added info: By the way, Christians are guilty of trying to lead everyone into believing what they do. What do you think of the other religions of the world? Do you tolerate people with different views? I am glad you have found direction in the scriptures. However, many people are good and moral and don't need to follow your chosen path.

I am a Christian. I am glad for it and proud of it. You are really one of the saddest realities in Christianity. How to be a decent Christian and live an non-judgmental life. You are so bitter and judgmental that you sound jealous. And the most aggravating thing is that to get my point across, you cause me to judge you. You are the Christian dilemma. You are pathetic in many ways. Edit: And quit adding to your statements directed at individuals that answer you. You look worse every time you open you mouth. I am serious here...leave your computer and go pray and ask for wisdom and understanding!!!!

I'm not an atheist myself, I'm one of those heathen Wiccans to you, but I beleive everyone should have the freedom to pursue whatever religion they wish. If they find a religion (as I have) that makes them happy, gives them faith and helps them to become a better person then they have accomplished their goal. Trying to turn someone to a religion YOU think is right is not the answer. I have many true Christian friends and they accept me the way I am and do not try to change me. They are merely there to help me if I need it. THAT is what faith should really be about. To be able to have faith in yourself, your religion, and your friends enough that you will be there when you are truly needed. You should not judge people you do not know. From what I understand that's not your job it's your Gods.

Well I am a Christian, and personally I think you need to clean out your own backyard before you go messing in others.
Who are you to judge them? This is exactly what drives them away, judgmental christians that think they are better then everyone else... If you are going to be a Christian then start living like it. Jesus dies for us, so the least we can do is offer our lives to Him. Please, you've done enough, just go away if all you are going to do is criticize people. You are generalizing most atheists are actually good people, the only difference is that we have accepted Christ.
