Hey ami,
we are united here in Europe. Here it is called EU. European Union.
It s not a ghost or a joke.
Here in europe we have currency. It is called Euro €
As far as I know € has a higher volume than ami-$.
The Euro € is currency in Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy Finland, Portugal, Austria. Alone these countries have more economic power than your u.s.a.
EU has more GNP than the u.s.a.
In the EU more ppl live and they are better educated.
As time goes by we will have a european army - with or without the british (I personally like them very much, they are saxons like me).
That you can bet.
Greetings from germany, United States of Europe

We have NATO which includes the USA plus countries such as Canada and most of the European countries worth having but unfortunately includes France whose military tactics only involve how to use a white flag.

If they ever do, it won't be in the immediate future. It would be nice to see the united nations come together and form the international armed defense forces. At the moment, I believe China should be dealt with carefully. Though our Military has quality, they definitely have quantity. With an invading force of two million, they would be a frightening opposition. Hopefully it will never have to come to that, but if it does you can believe we'd be looking at WW III, and it would without a doubt have more than a few nuclear threats being traded around the globe. We can either start practicing up on our mandarin or pay closer attention to the defense of not only the United States but its allies as well.

Yes! It would be better for us, and for the world.
We could slim it down, save money, feel safer, & pool our strengths to develop the most high-tech, humane & understanding army of all.
And to those who presume that France & Germany alone would end up controlling it, I say, bäh! All 27 countries would have a say & a vote in matters regarding the objectives & use of the military (perhaps the larger countries should have slightly more say than the smallest, but not all the say).

Does Europe need NATO or does the US need NATO? You see we screw it up with these totally stupid wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. What does have a NORTH ATLANTIC DEFENSE to do in SOUTH ASIA? Is this the goal of NATO? So the Europeans are giving sooner or later a **** on these missiles in these sub marines. Sad? Don’t be an Emo! China was shooting a satellite 50 miles up in the orbit. This satellite has had a size of your washing machine and Europe becomes a Disneyland. England is sticking to its past like bees to honey... This times are over your sold all to the Chinese. You lost!

It will never happen. The european continent is riddled with petty minded principalities. Whingeing is not just a British disease! The yanks are on the decline now, which is a shame - Bush knackered them lot with the Gulf fiascos 1 & 2. They'll never reclaim their empire now, the Chinese will eclipse em in 2 decades. I reckon there will be a battle royale in my lifetime and as a brit I dont expect to be on top of that slag heap of hollow mililitary victories. Just wanna be higher up the roll call of honor than the Belgians!

That is the stupidest thing I ever heard. International unions are totally overrated. In the end, people kill each other anyway. Plus, it forces countries into alliances that they will eventually regret, and the countries feel opressed by the more powerful countries in the union afterward. In my opinion, Switzerland is the wisest country in the world because it does not see a need to unite with other nations and understands the consequences for doing so.

Definitely no, the NATO is more than enough. No offense but Europe has no need of it. They do not need to play "rambo" to show what they are and to belong to the developed countries.
Honestly, if having a huge army, violence and the "Machiavelli"-way to deal with world politic means strongness, Europe can be proud to be "weak". It is really a pity, USA is really a wonderful and great country and the people are really nice, but the goverment administration and the way they interfere in other countries is just criminal.

A European Army is what the EU is planning to create. Problem for UK is the German Generals want to get their hands on our Nukes. For this reason I think the Brits will only want US Nukes stationed in UK that way the Krauts cannot get their hands on em.

Europe will never be a power again. The EU has stripped member countries of pride and the ego of countries like France and Great Britain will not blend into a strong military. The US has provided protection for too long and now Europe has decided to give in rather than hold up their heads and stand firm.
