It depends on the type of parrot that you have. Most parrots are monomorphic. Which means that you can not accurately visually sex them. There may be small signs that serve as clues. But, the only way sure way to know for sure is to either have your bird dna tested with toe nail blood or feathers. or have the vet surgically sex it. There are a few species that are dimorphic meaning that there are distinct color differences that are obvious. Such as in budgies...the nares are different colors. males are blue, females are pink. The eclectus, males are green females are red. some parrotlets, males have blue on their flight feathers, females do not. I don't have a full list. But, there are some. As far as cockatiels, quakers, macaws, cockatoos, etc (I tried to name off some of the more popular birds) there is no way to accurately sex them visually. You can go to this site and have your parrot dna'd tested fairly cheap...

Somehow, u need to roll them over or hold them upside down.. feel around the abdomen where u think an egg would be if it is a girl, if u feel a hole, it is a girl, if it is closed bone, it is a boy... sometimes if u have parrots, the one that whistles or talks more is a male. other times, u can tell by the color. If this doesnt help, take them to the vet, and they will be glad to help! :)

Most parrots have to have a DNA test done by a vet in order to find out what sex they are!! They just clip the toe nails and test the blood it cost about 35.00

the only way you are able to intercourse any great avian is to have their DNA actual examined to verify regardless of if or not they seem to be a male or a woman. In African gray's, the girls are frequently smaller; yet it somewhat is to not say that it somewhat is for specific. sturdy success jointly with your chicken!

im sorry. i only have two birds, a cockatiel, and a budgie. both r girls. to tell a cockatiel's sex, i have read that males have dark under tail feathers, where females can have yellow. mine, who ive had for 4 years now, is female. as for budgies, that is easy enough. males have purple or bright blue nares (the skin around the nose, above the beak), where females r lighter, or duller. My budgie is a female, and has very light nares. hope that helped.

It depends on what kind of parrot it is. if its a cockatoo, then if it has blue around its eyes it is a male. go to a pet shop or buy a book on your bird, if you can't find out.

A pet store owner once told me you can only tell them apart by getting a DNA sample and having it tested,

Hey,
This is Monique,
Either look at the noses to see if it's: blue(boy) or pink(girl)
or go to the nearest pet shop, (that's knows about parrots)!!!
